What does Citedify do?
We ask the AI engines the questions your customers ask, record every answer, and score how often you're named, how high up, and how positively. Then we tell you exactly what to fix, in order.
Your first report arrives within 48 hours. Then we re-test every month, so you can see what changed and whether your fixes worked.
Local services, online stores and B2B brands each get asked different questions. We test the right ones.
Local businesses
"Near me" questions now get two or three named businesses, not ten links. We check your Business Profile, reviews, directory listings and LocalBusiness schema.
“Emergency plumber open Sunday in Austin?”
45% of consumers now use AI tools for local recommendations, up from 6% a year earlier. BrightLocal, 2026
Yes. ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Mode now answer questions like 'best dentist near me' or 'emergency plumber open on Sunday' with two or three named businesses. They lean on Google Business Profile data, review volume and ratings, consistent name, address and phone details across directories, and local lists and review sites. Citedify runs the local questions your customers ask and shows which businesses get named instead of you and which sources the answers cite.
How do e-commerce brands get into AI shopping answers?
AI shopping answers pull from product pages with clear Product, Offer and Review schema, merchant feeds and catalogs (ChatGPT now discovers Shopify products through Shopify Catalog), and the review sites, Reddit threads and 'best of' roundups they trust. Brands missing from those sources get replaced by marketplaces or competitors. Citedify tests the product and comparison questions buyers ask and shows where your products drop out of the answer.
What is answer engine optimization (AEO)?
Answer engine optimization is the work of getting your business named in the answers AI assistants give, in ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. SEO earns you a ranking in a list of links; AEO earns you a place in the two or three names an AI actually recommends. It is also called generative engine optimization (GEO).
How does Citedify work?
We generate 20 questions your buyers actually ask (discovery, comparison, constraints, integration and pricing questions), ask them to ChatGPT with web search, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, and record every answer. Each answer is scored for whether you are mentioned, how high up, and how positively. You get a visibility score, the competitors named instead of you, the sources AI cites, and a prioritised list of fixes.
How often is my visibility re-tested?
Every month. Your first report arrives within 48 hours of signing up. After that we re-run your questions monthly, so you can see what changed after each model update and whether your fixes are working.
Which AI engines are included?
Every report covers ChatGPT (with web search), Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. There are no per-engine add-ons.
How is the AI visibility score calculated?
The score runs from 0 to 100 and weighs four things: mention rate (40%), how often you are named in relevant answers; position (30%), whether you are the first recommendation or an afterthought; sentiment (20%), how positively you are described; and engine coverage (10%), how consistent you are across engines.
Why do competitors show up in AI answers and I don’t?
AI engines recommend the businesses their sources agree on. Competitors that appear more often usually have more reviews and mentions on sites the engines trust, clearer and more consistent information across the web, structured data that is easy to read, and pages that answer the exact questions buyers ask. Your Citedify report shows which of these gaps matter most for you.
